It has been brought to the attention of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department that there is an individual who is claiming to be a member of the office of The Assessor/Clerk-Recorder. The individual is contacting members of the public over the phone, claiming that they have missed jury duty and that if they don’t pay a fine, a warrant will be issed for their arrest.

The Assessor/Clerk-Recorder’s office does not collect monies for missed jury duty. Any phone calls of this nature should be reported to your local law enforcement agency as soon as possible.
