On 11/14/18 at 1210 hours, A Deputy was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Department Headquarters regarding a Fraud. After further investigation, it was determined unknown suspect(s) contacted the victim by email using a fake EBay account. The victim purchased an $800.00 trailer with $800.00 worth of insurance using EBay gift cards he purchased at the store. After payment the suspect never returned any emails or sent a trailer.

Should you receive a request for payment for goods in the form of gift cards, please report the call to your local law enforcement agency. Gather as much information from request such as phone numbers, details of the requested persons purpose for requesting gift cards instead of normal payment routes for the goods as well as any other details which may be pertinent with identifying the person and provide this information to law enforcement.
