On 02-11-17 at 1700 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the area of Road 128 and Avenue 24 in Delano regarding a grand theft. The reporting party, Mr. Basurto, had located a tractor and attached water tank, which he did not know had been stolen during the day. Upon finding the equipment, he said a water pump was missing from the water tank.
The estimated value of the water pump was said to be $800.
During the investigation, Deputies located a pair of shoe tracks, which led into a nearby orchard. They followed the shoe tracks to a residence approximately a half mile away. There Deputies contacted John Jauregui, an adult, who was wearing shoes that matched those found at the scene.
Information developed led to the discovery of the water pump in Delano and additional items including brass sprinklers underneath Jauregui’s house. These items also belonged to Vignolo Farms.
The total estimated recovery was $40,800. The suspect was arrested and booked into custody at Porterville Substation.
