On 6-24-17 at 2318 hours, Tulare County Deputies responded to a residence on the 7200 block of Road 248, outside the community of Terra Bella, for a report of a non-responsive child.  Deputies found the infant not breathing and began CPR.

Ambulance personnel arrived on scene and confirmed the child was deceased. 
Coroner personnel initiated an investigation which was immediately determined to be suspicious. Violent Crimes Detectives responded and continued with the investigation. 

On Tuesday, 6-27-17, Coroner personnel conducted an autopsy on the infant victim.  The autopsy determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma.  The infant’s death is being investigated as a homicide. 

Violent Crimes Detectives continued with the investigation.  The infant’s mother, Tracy Rodriguez of Terra Bella, has been arrested and booked into the Adult Pre-Trial Facility charged with 187 PC, Homicide.
