The Kings River within Tulare County will be open for recreational activities, including boating, effective Friday July 14, 2017.  The water levels have returned to a reasonable level to allow motorized operation on the river.

The conditions on the Kings River have been carefully reviewed by Tulare County Sheriff's Office through ongoing communication with the Kings River Water Association. 

Although open, our office would like to caution boaters as they return to the river because the high flows have moved a lot of sand bars into new places and there may be significant changes to the channel. We encourage visitors to use a great deal of caution when operating boats and recreating on the Kings River.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office Boating Safety Enforcement Unit will be patrolling the Kings River ensuring everyone's safety.
