On 07-29-2018 at approximately 0140 hours, Tulare Area Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team detectives and Porterville Patrol deputies were in the area of Avenue 145 and Road 193, in Poplar, attempting to locate a suspect who fled the area.

Upon arrival, Detectives noticed that the front door to a residence was open. Detectives suspected the suspect possibly entered the residence in an attempt to avoid law enforcement.

Detectives and Porterville Patrol deputies conducted a welfare check at the residence and the rest of the property. At the end of the search, Detectives located an illegal marijuana grow, an unregistered assault rifle, ammunition, more than three pounds of processed marijuana and a pistol.

It should be noted that there were approximately 250 live marijuana plants inside of the grow. The four subjects, who lived at the residence, were arrested and transported to the Porterville Substation.
