In June/July 2017, Tulare County Sheriff’s Detectives with the TAGNET Unit (Tulare Area Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team) conducted overflights of the Badger area for illegal clandestine marijuana grow sites.
During the overflight, Detectives located three separate properties in the Badger area that were actively cultivating marijuana. Two of the properties were large-scale marijuana operations while the third was a smaller scale operation in violation of Tulare County Ordinance Laws.
On 8-3-17, TAGNET Detectives and Tulare County Code Compliance Officers served two search warrants and one Civil Abatement warrant on the properties in the Badger area.
During the operation on the three separate properties, 8,462 marijuana plants were eradicated and destroyed.
During the operation, Deputies were unable to locate any suspect(s). While assisting Code Compliance Officers with the third location they were unable to make contact with any subjects at that location.
The investigation into illegal marijuana grow sites is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 733-6218 or they can remain anonymous by calling TIPNOW at (559) 725-4194.
