On 06/05/2014, following a month long investigation, Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff Department's STEP Team and Narcotics Division conducted a marijuana suppression raid on fifteen private residences in the County area of northeast Lindsay. Detectives executed five search warrants and had identified ten additional properties which were actively engaged in the cultivation of marijuana. 

During the investigations, Detectives eradicated 2,497 live marijuana plants, seized 217 pounds of packaged saleable marijuana and seized six firearms. Seven individuals were taken into custody on charges including cultivation of marijuana, sale of marijuana and weapons violations. Had the marijuana been allowed to be harvested, processed and sold, it would have been valued at an estimated 7.5 million dollars. This case is under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff's Department STEP Team.
