DETAILS:
Every year, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department hosts the Tulare County Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony. This year holds particular significance for our department and county as we are adding the name of Deputy Jeremy Meyst (End of Watch: December 24, 2013). Representatives from local government, law enforcement, and members of the public gather together to remember and honor the fallen law enforcement of years past, family, friends, and to remember that those who paid the ultimate sacrifice did not do so in vain, and that they will not be forgotten.
This year’s program includes Acting Sheriff Mike Boudreaux as Master of Ceremonies, Merrily Rapozo-Wilson – 1998 surviving spouse – as Guest Speaker, and Megan Rapozo reading the End of Watch Roll Call, as well as performances by the El Diamante High School Choir and bagpiping by Mark Little.
It is requested that media interested in attending contact the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer at sheriffpio@co.tulare.ca.us or at 559-636-4695. If you call outside of regular business hours or when the PIO is out of the office, you may be forwarded to her voicemail or another phone line. You will be provided with information regarding the event including arrival time, designated media area (if applicable) and location.
