Male victim was identified as Gabriel Penaloza, 29, of Goshen.

On 6-5-16, Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Violent Crimes Unit and Detectives with the Kings County Sheriff's Office began a joint investigation into the human remains found in a vehicle fire located in the area of First Avenue and Houston Avenue in Kings County.

Detectives quickly determined foul play was involved and homicide detectives from both the Tulare County Sheriff's Office and the Kings County Sheriff's Office took over the investigation. The identity and cause of death of the victim is unknown and an autopsy is pending in Kings County.
