On 02/01/18, Ivan Barrita, a known Norteno Gang member, was arrested at his home in Reedley during the course of a search warrant at his residence.

Investigators from Tulare Area Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team were at Barrita’s residence serving a search warrant regarding an investigation in which Barrita was identified as the suspect who had fired a firearm in the area of Kate Road and Avenue 378 in London on 01-26-2018, after pointing the firearm at a female victim.  Deputies had previously attempted to apprehend Barrita by way of a traffic stop on 01-26-2018, however, Barrita evaded law enforcement in his vehicle and avoided apprehension.

During the execution of a search warrant on 2/1/18 at his residence, Barrita, a previously convicted felon, was found to be in possession of an AK47 rifle, a short barrel assault rifle, a semi-automatic handgun, high capacity magazines, along with corresponding ammunition for the aforementioned firearms and high-capacity magazines. 

Barrita was also found to be in possession of body armor, which he is prohibited from possessing.

Detectives from the (TAGNET) located a butane honey oil lab (concentrated cannabis) in a detached garage, which Barrita was responsible for operating. The ammunition, firearms, and butane honey oil lab were all accessible to a juvenile sibling residing at the residence. 

Barrita was subsequently booked on the listed charges at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
