Negligent discharge of a firearm, vandalism, possession of large capacity magazines
On 7/19/16 1607 hrs, Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 41900 block of Road 38 in Kingsburg regarding a report of a male who was intoxicated and had fired multiple rounds from a rifle, from inside of a recreational vehicle. Deputies arrived at the scene and contacted the suspect who was later identified as Richard Vaughn Freeman, a Kingsburg resident.
During the investigation, Deputies determined the suspect had fired two rounds from inside of his recreational vehicle with an AR 15 .223 caliber rifle. One of the rounds struck a nearby barbeque grill valued at $1,200.
There were pedestrians in the area where Mr. Freeman had discharged his weapon. Freeman was also found to be in possession of two 30 round magazines for his AR-15 which were loaded with .223 caliber ammunition. He was taken into custody and subsequently booked at the Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
