On July 18, 2015 at approximately 2250 hrs two officers from the Farmersville Police Department were processing an adult male subject that was in custody on a parole violation in the Farmersville Police Department booking room. During the booking process a struggle ensued and the subject began fighting with the officers. The fight extended into adjoining offices and a struggle for one of the officer’s weapons ensued. Shots were fired and the suspect was hit. Medical aid was summoned and the suspect was determined to be deceased at the scene.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office was requested to conduct an investigation into the shooting. Inquiries related to the investigation can be directed to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the officers has three years of law enforcement experience and has been with the Farmersville Police Department for 7 months. The other officer is a two year veteran of the Farmersville Police Department. Both of the officers involved have, per department policy, been placed on paid administrative.

The investigation of this case is ongoing.
