Possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of heroin for sales/distribution, possession of burglary tools, obstructing a peace officer

On 10/27/2018, at approximately 1800 Hours, TAGNET Detectives observed a black sedan near Mooney Blvd. and Kaweah Avenue, in violation of the California Vehicle Code. TAGNET Detectives conducted an enforcement traffic stop on the vehicle, which was confirmed to be a stolen vehicle out of Lemoore, CA. As the vehicle yielded to the right side of the roadway, a male subject, later identified as Jason Cross, exited the vehicle and fled west bound from the scene. Visalia Police Department and TAGNET Detectives obtained witness statements which eventually led them to a residence on Edwards Ct. nearby. TAGNET Detectives and VPD  Officers obtained permission and began searching the residence. Cross was located hiding in a bathroom upstairs.

Cross was arrested, and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Afterwards, a search was conducted of the stolen vehicle that Cross was operating. Inside the vehicle, Detectives located burglary tools and heroin packaged for sales. Cross was also found to have two active arrest warrants for heroin sales and California Vehicle Code violations. Cross was transported and booked at the Adult Pretrial Facility on the active arrest warrants and the above charges.
