On 3-9-2015 at 1000 hours, Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded to an address in the 600 Block of East Bent Ranch, Earlimart, to serve an arrest warrant.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect Gutierrez and an overwhelming odor of growing marijuana was detected by Deputies coming from within the residence. 

Gutierrez led Deputies inside his house to an indoor marijuana grow operation.  A subsequent search of the residence led Deputies to find a loaded 9mm pistol, a .22 pump rifle, over 60 marijuana plants, processed marijuana, marijuana seeds, packaging, multiple rounds of various calibers of ammunition, and 2.5 ounces of methamphetamine.

The meth, gun, and processed marijuana were readily accessible to five juvenile children who were present.  Both suspects (husband and wife) admitted to knowledge of the weapons, the meth, and the marijuana.  Suspect Gutierrez was currently out on bail for other charges.   

CWS was contacted and responded taking custody of all five children.  Both suspects were booked at the Pre-Trial Facility without incident. 

This case is being investigated by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.
