05/09/2016, 1700 hours:

Deputies made a traffic stop in the 35800 block of Hwy 190 in Springville for CVC4000(a) (unregistered vehicle).  During the stop, deputies gained consent to search the vehicle driven by Billy Blount.  A small baggie containing 5 morphine pills was located between the driver’s seat and center console.  Blount said he was delivering the morphine pills to his friend that lives in Springville.  While continuing the search, deputies located 4 additional morphine pills, 5 grams of methamphetamine, and a glass pipe all hidden inside a metal flashlight under the driver’s seat.  Blount was arrested without incident and transported to the Porterville Substation where he was lodged.

This case is being forwarded to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office for review of the above listed charges and Blount is being held in custody with a $50,000 bail.
