Suspect: Tom Wood, Representative for Rev Wire Tech Company of South Africa.

On 2/6/18 at 1840 hours, Deputies from the Visalia Substation were dispatched to the 31900 block of Fritz Drive, Exeter, regarding possible fraud. Upon arrival to the residence, it was learned that the victim, while on a personal computer, had received a pop-up message stating the personal computer had potential threats, malware, and a virus.  The pop-up message instructed the victim to contact Tom Wood of Rev Wire Tech Company to assist in removing any and all threats from the computer.

During the investigation, it was learned that the victim contacted Rev Wire Tech Company to assist in removing all unwanted malware and threats. The victim was offered multiple levels of assistance and spent $1,200. Further investigation of Rev Wire Tech showed that the company is a fraudulent company from South Africa.
