On 02/25/2018, Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Pixley Substation responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the area of northbound Highway 99 and Avenue 120, in Pixley. The driver of the second vehicle, later identified as Veto Rios, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and causing the accident.

Deputies arrived on scene and Rios fled the scene in a sedan and a pursuit ensued. Rios collided into an additional vehicle while he was fleeing from Deputies. Rios physically resisted with Deputies but was eventually taken into custody. He was placed under arrest and booked for felony evading and felony resisting arrest. CHP also responded and assisted with the investigation.
