Robber Armed with "Rambo Knife" Caught Near Orosi

    

On January 3rd, 2019 at 1:25 p.m., Deputies from the Orosi substation were called to the 10300 block on Ave. 416 in Sultana for an armed robbery. The suspect was armed with a large “Rambo” knife and demanded money from the employees at a Propane business. The suspect got away with approximately $200 to $600 in cash. 

The suspect fled the area in a vehicle towards Orosi. Detective’s arrived on scene and took over the investigation. Detectives obtained video surveillance and statements from witnesses regarding the suspect vehicle and suspect.

Detectives from TAGNET canvassed the area for the suspect and suspect vehicle. They found a vehicle matching the description and stopped it near Ave. 424 and Rd.124. The driver was positively identified as Doyle Swarm of Reedley. Detectives also found a large knife in the vehicle that matched the weapon used in the robbery. Swarm was also believed to be wearing the same clothing from the robbery and had a large amount of cash on him. He was arrested and booked into jail.
