On 4-30-18, Deputies from the Visalia Substation responded to an address in the Lemon Cove area in regards to an elderly female who had been choked by her adult son.  Deputies contacted the 81-year-old victim who stated her son, Evan Disinger, had started a verbal argument with her just prior to calling law enforcement.  She stated the argument escalated and Evan placed his hands around her throat and pushed her against a cabinet.

The victim fled her residence in her vehicle.  She stopped down the street and called law enforcement for help.  While waiting for deputies to arrive, Evan walked to her vehicle and entered the front passenger door.  He told her to drive him to the store and she refused.  Evan turned the ignition and placed the car in drive.  The suspect observed the victim’s phone in her hand and told her not to call law enforcement.  At that time Evan grabbed her left hand containing the cell phone and bit her hand, causing her to release the phone.  Evan took the phone and got out of the car when they arrived at the store.

The case was later filed by the DA’s office and a warrant was issued for Evan’s arrest.  The DA filed the charges of robbery, carjacking, dissuading a victim and physical elder abuse.

On 5-30-18 Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff Property Investigations Unit located Evan at a residence in the Lindcove area.  He was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility.

Suspect:  Evan Disinger, age 56, resident of the Lindcove area
