Narrative:
Victim reports while he was in front of his residence entering into the driver side of his vehicle, the suspect approached the victim on foot. The suspect was holding an approximately 18” bladed machete. The suspect told the victim to give him all of his money. The suspect held the machete in a manner that made the victim feel that his life was in danger. The victim gave the suspect his wallet and the suspect removed all of the money ($20.00). The suspect then told the victim that by giving him the money he just saved his own life. The suspect left the area on foot. Several witnesses of the crime and recognized the identity of the suspect. Deputies later located the suspect in the bathroom of his residence and detained him. Also within the bathroom deputies collected a machete. A field show up resulted with the victim and witnesses positively identifying the suspect in this case. The machete that was collected was also recognized as being the weapon used in this crime. There were no injuries to the victim or suspect. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Porterville substation and booked for Robbery. The $20.00 was not recovered.
