At approximately 1433 hours on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, the Tulare County Sheriff's Emergency Services Division received a call reporting Thad Wiley, 68 years old, of Cresentia, California, was overdue from a motorcycle trip in the area of Kennedy Meadows. The report stated Wiley was supposed to have concluded his trip by May 28 but had not been seen or heard from.

Resident Deputies were dispatched to the area and located Wiley who was in good health and was in no need of assistance. Wiley stated he did not know why he was reported overdue and he was able to contact family members to clarify the plans of his trip.
