Victim: Pena, Alfonso Rodriguez   24 years 

At approximately 1795 hours on 5-12-15, a county employee who was in the area of 1200 block of Linda Vista observed two vehicles pull up and stop on the south side of the road. The driver got out of one vehicle quickly and entered the second vehicle which left the scene. 

The person immediately reported the suspicious activity and deputies responded to the area. 

The vehicle left behind was reported stolen and a Hispanic male adult was located in the backseat deceased with visible trauma. 

Detectives are currently on scene investigating the case. As additional information is available for release an update will be posted.

****UPDATE****

On 5-14-15 Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Violent Crimes Detectives positively identified Alfonso Rodriguez Pena 24 years as the above homicide victim.

Violent Crimes Detectives also attended an autopsy on 5-14-15 where the cause of death was ruled to be numerous fatal gunshot wounds.

Nikki Gibson 27 years – arrested on 2 active misdemeanor warrants for 23152 A&B CVC  with a total bail $70,000.

Location #3:

Luis Alejandro Pineda 28 years – arrested on active felony warrant for 211, 12022, 186.22 PC with a bail of $100,000, fresh arrest for 29800A1 , 243b and 148 PC

Carlos Paniagua 19 years – fresh arrest for 11358 H&S, 148 PC

Janine Evelyn Snider 24 years – fresh arrest for 11358,11359 H&S, 273a PC
 

During the past three weeks the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department has continued their investigation into the above homicide that occurred on 5-12-15.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department’s Violent Crimes Unit were able to obtain information and collect evidence  which led to a search warrant being issued for the above  three locations.

On 6-4-15 the Violent Crimes Unit along with other assisting personnel served the search warrants at the above three locations which ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect in this case. Additional subjects contacted at other locations were arrested on the above listed charges and warrants.
