Sheriff Boudreaux Presents Dispatcher of the Year Award

Sheriff Mike Boudreaux presented Lisa Bostai with the Dispatcher of the Year award Monday, April 20, 2020, in the emergency dispatch center.

“I’m grateful to be chosen by my peers,” Bostai said. “Thank you very much for this honor.”

Sheriff Boudreaux said he was very happy to present the plaque to Lisa in person and thanked her for all of her hard work. Normally, the award is given during a regional dispatcher appreciation awards dinner. But this year, the dinner was canceled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Lisa said the best part of her job is helping others when they need it most.

“It makes me feel good to be on this side of the radio helping people in the community and making sure our deputies come home safe at the end of their shifts,” she said.

Lisa has been a supervisor for 10 years and she also serves as a Tactical Dispatcher and Command Bus Operator. She began her career with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department in 1997, and after a couple of moves with her family, returned to the Sheriff’s Department in 2009. She is married to Sergeant Karl Bostai and they have four children.

Emergency Dispatcher Supervisor Shelby Skrinde said Lisa keeps the morale up in the dispatch center with her decorating and baking skills for holidays, birthdays, and special events in her co-worker’s lives.

“She’s an all-around awesome dispatcher and awesome person,” she said. “I can always rely on her for anything.”
