It was brought to the Sheriff's attention that unknown person(s) created a false advertisement on Craigslist. The person(s) modified an existing post about rental properties in an attempt to rent property without permission for possible monetary gain. 

Please contact the Sheriff's Office and file a report if you have been victimized by this type of scheme or others.

The scam referred to above was removed from Craigslist but scams like this one can pop up at any time. Do your due diligence to avoid becoming a victim by doing research before money changes hands.
