On 01/23/2016, while on regular patrol, deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff's Orosi Patrol Substation, saw a black Toyota Tacoma going at a high rate of speed and run the stop sign at this location.

Deputies attempted to stop the truck, but it failed to yield even when lights and siren were activated on the marked patrol unit. The truck was found to be stolen out of Dinuba. The truck accelerated and the truck was pursued for approximately six miles before it crashed in a orange orchard.

Two subjects fled from the truck into the orchard. TCSO, Fresno SO, Orange Cove PD, and CHP Patrol units along with its helicopter (H40) assisted in searching for the two subjects and they were located hiding approximately 400 yards into the orange orchard.

(S2) would not cooperate and show his hands. When he reached under himself, the K9 deputy feared the suspect was reaching for a weapon, so he used the K9 to take him into custody. (S1) was also taken into custody.

Due to additional information, it was found this truck was possibly involved in a crime in Dinuba.   The Fresno Sheriff's Office was contacted as the vehicle could have been associated with one of its cases. Upon investigation, Fresno SO took possession of the stolen truck.

This case is still under investigation; anyone with information is encouraged to call the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department at (559)733-6218 or send anonymous information by sending a text or email to TCSO@tipnow.com or call (559) 725-4194.
