Over the past weekend, Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office TAGNET (Tulare Area Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team) conducted gang suppression in the county as part of ongoing efforts to reduce gang violence in Tulare County.
As a result, Detectives arrested two men and a male juvenile and seized firearms, stolen firearms and drugs.
Around 7 p.m. on Friday, TAGNET Detectives contacted 37-year-old Arturo Solorio during a traffic stop in Strathmore. Detectives found a loaded .22 caliber pistol and a loaded AR-15 style rifle, along with numerous different caliber live rounds. Detectives also found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Solorio was arrested for possession of narcotics with a loaded firearm and possession of a loaded firearm in public by a gang member. He was booked at the South County Detention Facility.
Just after 10 p.m. on Friday, TAGNET Detectives contacted 33-year-old Adrian Espino during a traffic stop in the 12300 block of Aceves Avenue, in Orosi. Detectives saw ammunition in the vehicle and found a .45 caliber handgun in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Espino is a documented Northern gang member. He was placed under arrest for gang member in possession of a loaded firearm/carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle. Espino was booked at the Adult Pre-Trial facility.
On Friday, just before 9 p.m, TAGNET Detectives contacted two male juveniles in the area of Road 130 and Avenue 416, in Orosi, one of whom is a documented Southern criminal street gang member. While searching the juveniles, detectives found a loaded .22 caliber pistol on the 16-year-old gang member. The gun was found to be stolen. He was booked at Juvenile Hall for charges of gang member in possession of a loaded firearm and possession of stolen property.
These cases are currently under investigation by the TULARE COUNTY SHERIFF’S TAGNET UNIT.
