Just after 9 a.m. on 12/24/20, Correctional Deputies at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Adult Pre-Trial Facility found a 56-year-old inmate unresponsive in his cell. He was housed in a single-cell unit.   
CPR and First Aid was immediately rendered. However, he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

TCSO Detectives determined the inmate had attempted suicide, by hanging himself from a bed sheet. 

He was arrested on December 17th on charges of Resisting Arrest, Battery on a Police Officer and a Parole Violation.  

No foul play is suspected. However, an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. 

The inmate’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.
