On Thursday 12/6/18 Tulare County Sheriff's Office Deputies were called to Elbow Community School on Road 160 in Ivanhoe, after a 13-year-old student and 14-year-old student were overheard talking about carrying out a "Columbine Style" attack, where they could "kill a lot of people".
School staff believed the threat was credible and called law enforcement immediately. The students admitted to having the conversation, but said they were joking.
Deputies have contacted the parents and will be searching the homes. Both students have been detained and will face charges of making terrorist or criminal threats.
Sheriff Boudreaux and the Tulare County Sheriff's Office take ANY kind of criminal threats VERY seriously. They are NEVER a joke. Parents, please have this conversation with your children. We want EVERYONE to feel safe in our schools.
