At 1727 hours on April 29, 2016, Sheriff’s Deputies were contacted regarding bomb threats against Charter Alternative Academy Continuation School. Detectives were called out and responded to a home on the 1000 block of East Oakridge Avenue in Visalia to investigate the terrorist threats made by a 14-year-old boy earlier in the day at school.
He is suspected of telling his fellow students and family that he wanted to blow up the school and shoot students at the school which is located east of Visalia and near Farmersville.
His family was cooperative with law enforcement and consented to a search at his Visalia home. There were no bomb-making materials or weapons found, however there were documents located that substantiated the suspect’s threats.
The suspect was taken into custody for 422 PC Terrorist Threats and 148.1 Making Bomb Threats. He was subsequently transported and booked at the juvenile hall.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office takes these types of threats seriously. If anyone has any further information on this case we ask that you contact the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at 559-733-6218 or anonymously at 559-725-4194 or tcso@tipnow.com.
Because he is a minor, his name is not released.
