On 10-17-18 at 6 a.m., local law enforcement agencies in Tulare County took part in a nationwide effort to crack down on Domestic Violence. A number of agencies joined forces to try and serve 291 arrest warrants for people wanted in connection with domestic violence offenses.  This special Operation was part of the 16th National Family Violence Apprehension Detail, which started in Clackamas County, Oregon.

Since October is designated as "Domestic Violence Awareness Month", Sheriff’s Deputies and Officers began knocking on doors to bring offenders to justice.  In total, there were 55 law enforcement officers who were divided into teams of four and served the arrest warrants throughout Tulare County.

The operation ended with a total of 18 people going to jail, including two women. 12 suspects were arrested for domestic violence warrants. Three additional subjects were arrested on  unrelated warrants stemming from drunk or drug related charges.  Three other suspects were arrested for possession & cultivation of marijuana for sale. Most of the seized marijuana was processed and packaged in individual bags with an approximate weight of 150 pounds.

This was a multi-agency event. The remaining arrest warrants will be served by local law enforcement agencies as part of an ongoing effort to find and arrest offenders and bring justice and closure to victims.

Local law enforcement agencies that participated with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office include the Visalia Police Department, Porterville Police Department, Tulare Police Department, Lindsay Police Department, Dinuba Police Department and Tulare County Probation.
