On 9-21-18 at 7:30 a.m., deputies from Headquarters Patrol Division were called to a school bus stop in front of Goshen Elementary School in regards to a juvenile feeling sick. When they arrived, Deputies contacted two 16-year-old female victims, standing by with school staff. Emergency Medical Services began assessing both victims in regards to their symptoms.
Upon conducting an investigation, it was learned that the victims were given suspected concentrated marijuana from a 16-year-old male. Both victims consumed a small amount of the marijuana. One of the victims immediately began to show signs of sickness due to the ingestion. Both victims were treated by medical staff on scene. One of the victims responded to Kaweah Delta Hospital for further precautionary treatment. Both were released to the custody of their parents/guardian(s).
The identity of the 16-year old-suspect who provided the substance to the juveniles was learned throughout the course of this investigation. The suspect was subsequently contacted at a different location. Upon completing interviews with victims, witnesses and obtaining relevant evidence to this investigation, the suspect was taken into custody for sales / distribution of cannabis.
