On May 1, 2018, the Tulare County Sheriff's Office completed an autopsy on the victim, Paul Abarca, and determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the upper torso.   

Victim: Paul Abarca, 54 years of age, resident of New London   

On April 28 2018, Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit began a homicide investigation after the victim was found deceased at his home in the 37700 block of Road 58 in New London. Early in the investigation, Detectives determined foul play was involved. On May 1, 2018, the Tulare County Sheriff Department completed an autopsy on the victim and determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the upper torso.

Victim: Paul Abarca, 54 years old, New London

 

Narrative:

On 04-28-18, at 0409 hours, Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 37700 block of Road 58, in the community of New London, regarding a vehicle fire. Deputies and TC FIRE Personnel arrived at the residence and the vehicle fire was extinguished.

Deputies then checked the residence on the property and located a deceased male inside. Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit ultimately responded and assumed the investigation and were able to identify the deceased as Paul Abarca, 54 years old.

As a result of the investigation, Detectives determined foul play resulted in the death of the victim.
