UPDATE: Carjacking suspect arrested

Suspect: Jose Angel Martinez, 29 

On 7/25/17, Detectives were contacted by Tulare County Sheriff’s Deputies and advised that the Tulare Police Department had arrested a male subject believed to be involved with the carjacking on July 17 in Tulare.

Tulare Officers arrested Jose Angel Martinez, 29, for a warrant and two felonious fresh charges.    

 

On 7/26/17, Detectives responded and interviewed Martinez. Upon the conclusion of the interview, it was determined that Martinez was in fact involved with the crime. The charge of, “Carjacking” was added to Martinez’s current charges. Martinez’s bail is currently set for $135,000.

Suspect: Alyssa Ledesma Gonzalez, 24

On 7-19-17 Detectives were contacted by Dinuba Police and advised they had contacted a female subject believed to be involved with the carjacking on July 17 in Tulare. Dinuba Officers informed Sheriff's Detectives that they detained the above listed suspect after a traffic stop of the victim’s stolen vehicle.   

Detectives responded and interviewed Ledesma. Upon the conclusion of the interview, it was determined that Ledesma was in fact involved with the crime. She was placed under arrest for Carjacking and possession of a stolen vehicle and subsequently booked at the Adult Pre-Trail Facility.

On 7-17-17, Pixley Patrol Deputies responded to the above described location in regards to the report of a carjacking. Upon arrival, they were advised that an unknown Hispanic couple forcibly removed the victim from his vehicle after he assisted them with apparent car troubles.

The victim had kindly transported the female suspect to purchase gasoline and upon his return had his vehicle stolen by the couple. He sustained no injuries.      

 

Detectives were contacted and assumed the investigation. They were able to gather information and are actively following several leads. The investigation is ongoing.
