UPDATE: Comprehensive Computer Data Access and Fraud Act

On April 28, 2016, Esmeralda Reyes Robles of Ivanhoe was arrested on a warrant for nine felony counts of Fraudulently Accessing Computer Data, Penal Code 502(c).

She has been employed with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office since October, 2004 and most recently as a Records Clerk. Robles was booked into the Adult Pre-Trial.

Robles, 46, is currently on paid administrative leave pending the outcome an administrative investigation.

Because it’s a personnel issue for the Sheriff’s Office, there’s not much we can say about it.

What we can say is that we acted immediately upon learning of the possibility that Robles was fraudulently accessing computer data regarding her daughter’s fiancé, Abraham Ramirez Arroyo, who was arrested in San Mateo County on homicide charges.

On Sept. 11, 2015, a criminal investigation began surrounding Roble’s activities and she was placed on paid administrative leave.

At 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016, she was arrested on suspicion of Fraudulently Accessing Computer Data. She posted bail that afternoon.

Sheriff Mike Boudreaux has high standards for his employees and her arrest is a disappointment. While he regrets what Roble’s is accused of doing, he doesn’t tolerate criminal activity.

Sheriff’s Office employees and volunteers go through an extensive background check prior to hiring.
