Victim: Rogelio Gerardo Lopez, 28 years of age, resident of Earlimart 

On March 31, 2018, Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit began a homicide investigation after a male was found deceased in a vehicle, in the 700 Block of South Oak Street, in Earlimart. Investigators have identified the victim as Rogelio Gerardo Lopez, 28, of Earlimart. 

On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, the Tulare County Sheriff's Office completed an autopsy on Rogelio Lopez and determined the cause of death to be a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.

On Saturday, March 31, 2018 at approximately 0216 hours, Tulare County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of South Oak Street, in Earlimart, regarding a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his person and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The case is currently under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit.
