Victim – Pedro Mateo 41 years out of the Cutler area

Suspect – Rogelio Barrera 24 years out of the Cutler area (IN CUSTODY)

On 7-1-15 Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Violent Crimes Detectives were able to positively identify the victim as Pedro Mateo 41 years out of the Cutler area.

On 7-1-15 an autopsy was conducted on the victim and the cause of death was ruled to be exsanguination due to multiple sharp force trauma injuries.

The suspect in this case is in custody and there are no other outstanding suspects.

Victim: Hispanic Male Adult, Cutler

Suspect: Rogelio Barrera Castro, DOB: 05-05-1991

On 06-27-2015 at approximately 1839 hours, Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence in the 12600 block of Second Drive, Cutler, for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, Deputies located a male subject deceased in the backyard of the residence. 

During the investigation, Deputies located and detained a suspect who was still on scene. The suspect was identified as Rogelio Barrera Castro and was later transported and booked at the Pre-Trial Facility for homicide.
