Decedent: Starr, Michael Garland 50 years of age out of Pixley.

On 12-16-15 an autopsy was conducted on the decedent.

During the autopsy no signs of trauma were discovered and it was determined the decedent passed away from natural causes.

Deceased: Michael Garland Starr, 50, of Pixley

On Sunday, 12-13-2015 at approximately 2044 hours, Correctional Deputies at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility were conducting a security check of the inmates and located an inmate unconscious inside his single cell in the infirmary, which is also called Outpatient Housing. 

Sheriff’s Deputies and jail medical staff administered medical aide and EMS and Fire responded. The male inmate was ultimately transferred by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. The male was pronounced deceased at KDMC and Detectives with the Sheriff’s Department responded for the investigation. 

The cause of death is pending an autopsy with the Tulare County Coroner’s Office.

Starr was arrested Dec. 7, 2015 on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a controlled substance and possession of concentrated cannabis.
