Suspect 1: Melissa Acuna, 44 years of age, resident of Tulare

Suspect 2: Kirk Muro, 36 years of age, resident of Visalia

Victim: Tariq Alsumiri, 25 years of age, resident of Woodlake  

On June 14, 2018, Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit arrested Melissa Acuna and Kirk Muro for the murder of Tariq Alsumiri. Tariq was found murdered on May 11 2018 in the area of Oakmore/Cartmill in Tulare. During the course of the investigation, Detectives located evidence linking both suspects to the murder. Acuna was taken into custody on June 13 2018 in the City of Tulare. Muro was arrested on June 14, 2018 in the 1300 Block of North Giddings in the City of Visalia where Detectives served a search warrant at a residence. Both suspects have been booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Pre-Trial Facility on murder charges.
