UPDATE: Suspect identified in homicide case

Victim: Adam Hernandez, 41 years old, resident of Tulare 
Suspect: Gerardo Vivanco Lopez, 38 years old, resident of Tulare    

On May 30, 2018, Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit began a homicide investigation regarding the death of Adam Hernandez, Sr. He was shot and killed after a physical altercation in the area of Road 140 and Avenue 228, in Tulare.

On May 31, 2018, the Tulare County Sheriff's Office completed an autopsy on the victim, Adam Hernandez, and determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. 

During the course of the investigation, Detectives identified Gerardo Vivanco Lopez, 38 years old, resident of Tulare, as the person responsible for Hernandez's murder.  Detectives have served multiple search warrants at residences in the Tulare area in connection to this murder. 

The suspect, Gerardo Lopez, fled the area shortly after the shooting and could possibly still be driving a white 2005 Chevrolet Van with the license plate 8Y31854, similar to the one pictured here.

Lopez is considered armed and dangerous. The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the crime or Lopez’s whereabouts to call Detective VanCuren, Sergeant.
