On Thursday, 07-14-2106 at approximately 2018 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the 35400 block of Highway 190, in Springville, regarding a physical altercation. While en route, Deputies were advised the suspect vehicle involved was last seen traveling west bound on Highway 190 from Springville.
Deputies located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop to check the welfare of the occupants. During the investigation, it was determined a vehicle burglary had just occurred in the Springville area and the vehicle Deputies pulled over had been involved.
The occupants of the vehicle were detained, pending further investigation. Deputies responded to the area of Highway 190/ Wishon Drive, Springville, in regards to the vehicle burglary. There, Deputies determined the crime occurred on July 14 between 2018-2030 hours.
The suspect(s) broke the front passenger window and gained entry into the vehicle. The suspect(s) removed a MAC laptop from the vehicle and fled the scene. The laptop had since been recovered from the roadway, where the suspect vehicle had parked and booked for evidence. The estimated total loss/recovery of property was approximately $1,000.
During the investigation, Deputies obtained statements from occupants within the vehicle and determined who the suspect was. Deputies arrested the suspect and he was later booked at the Porterville Substation for Penal Code 459.
