On February 1st, 2019 around 12:40 a.m., Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of possible domestic violence and kidnapping, which had just occurred at a home on Paradise Ave in Ivanhoe. When they arrived, Deputies searched the home and found evidence of a struggle, but no one was there. 

Upon further investigation, Deputies found video surveillance which showed the victim being forcefully placed in a vehicle and driven away by her estranged boyfriend, 23-year-old Daniel Flores of Visalia.

TCSO Deputies, along with Officers from the Visalia Police Department, responded to the 600 block of South Church Street in Visalia, where they found Flores and arrested him. He had his and the victim’s young child with him. The child was not hurt. 

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit went to the scene in Ivanhoe and learned Flores had gone to the victim’s family’s home and picked up the child, after he had assaulted the victim. Detectives began an extensive search and were able to find the victim. She told deputies that Flores came into the home, physically assaulted her and then kidnapped her. She ran away from the suspect when he stopped the vehicle in Ivanhoe.

The victim had minor injuries from the assault and was treated and released from a local hospital. Flores was arrested and booked at the Adult Pre-Trial facility facing charges of burglary, kidnapping and domestic violence.
