The Benefit Amount is a financial contribution that the County provides to employees on a pre-tax basis to help offset a portion of the health insurance premiums. Benefit amounts vary by Bargaining Unit and Salary Grade.
The benefit amount for 2023 is $342.69 per pay period, which covers the premium for Employee Only tier enrollment of the Anthem Blue Cross PPO $750 Deductible Plan. If enrolling in another Anthem or Kaiser plan, the benefit amount will be applied toward that cost of that plan. If an employee elects to waive the County’s health plans the opt out payment is $41.67 per pay period (equivalent to $1,000 annually) for most Bargaining Units.
