On the listed date and time Deputies from the Sheriff’s Departments Headquarters Patrol Division were dispatched to the 30600 Blk of Rd 72 in regards to shots being fired and a man down. Upon their arrival they located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower back area. The victim was transported by Tulare County EMS to a local hospital for treatment of his wounds which are considered non-life threatening.

Investigators from the Sheriff’s Departments North County Gang Violence Suppression Unit were on duty and responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim was walking northbound on Rd 72 when a midsized dark colored SUV was driving southbound very slowly and when the vehicle reached the area of the victim, several shots were fired from the SUV at the victim striking him. The victim ran to a residence to call for help. The victim is being admitted for observation and treatment of his wounds, again which are not considered life threatening. No suspects are in custody at this time.

The case is currently under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Gang Violence Suppression Unit and no other information is being released at this time.
