Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office were on patrol in the community of Poplar when their vehicle-mounted Lojak system, which tracks stolen vehicles in real time, alerted them to the presence of a stolen vehicle in the area. 

The deputies were able to locate the vehicle parked on the 14400 block of Road 192.  Two subjects associated with the vehicle were detained. The subjects were identified as Jose Barajas of Terra Bella and Cesar Ponce of Delano. 

Further investigation revealed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  Both men were arrested and charged with 10851 VC, 496(d) PC, 11377 H&S, 11364(A) H&S and 11550(A) H&S.  In addition, Barajas had an outstanding felony warrant for a violation of probation.
