On Thursday, 06/25/15 at 0602 hours, deputies responded to a residence located on Ave 228 near Rd 132 in Tulare regarding a reported burglary. Upon arrival it was determined the victim was out of town and this was being reported by a relative. Deputies discovered unknown subject(s) entered through a broken window into the residence and removed a large flat-screen TV, several speakers, DVD player, miscellaneous motorcycle riding gear, and a 2004 Honda 450R dirt bike, which was taken from a secured storage shed. The victim also reported missing a .22 bolt action rifle. The victim estimated the total loss thus far at $7,500. Shoe and tire tracks were located on scene.
0951 hours: Deputies responded back to this location after the reporting party discovered the stolen motorcycle hidden underneath a pile of leaves and brush inside a walnut orchard just east of the residence. Due to the belief the suspect(s) would return for this item, a GPS tracking device was installed on the motorcycle.
1400 hours: Deputies responded to the same area when the GPS tracking device indicated the motorcycle was westbound on Bardsley near Oakmore. Deputies observed a small brown S-10 pickup with the stolen motorcycle clearly visible in the bed. A stop of the vehicle resulted in the arrest of three subjects who had just collected the motorcycle from the walnut orchard. Further investigation throughout the day resulted in a male suspect also being charged with numerous additional crimes including a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, and also an illegal ‘short-barreled’ shotgun.
