Taken into custody were:  Octavio Castaneda, 36 yrs Pixley & Benjamin Villanueva, 50 yrs of Pixley

On 05-02-14 at approximately 1530 hours, deputies responded to a residence in the 2800 block of North School in Pixley to investigate reports of possible narcotics activity and an illegal marijuana grow. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the suspects who both reside on the property and discovered Castaneda to have an illegal marijuana cultivation operation. Upon contact with Villanueva, he was found to be in possession of a pipe and .7grams of methamphetamine. 178 immature marijuana plants were eradicated at the grow site. Both suspects were arrested and booked at the Porterville Substation.

Both cases are under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
