On June 13, 2019, TCSO deputies were called to the 700 block of North Main St., Porterville for an apparent natural death. The investigation revealed that Mary Lea Rhoads was found unresponsive in a room at the Sequoia Motel. Witnesses called 911, emergency medical personnel arrived and determined Ms. Rhoads was deceased. There is no evidence of trauma and/or foul play. Ms. Rhoads death is being considered as natural at this time.
