On 1-27-14 at about 1630 Hrs., Tulare County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of East Center in Earlimart in regards to reports of  two suspicious subjects seen entering a yard at that location. Upon TCSD Deputies Arrival, Deputies confronted two masked suspects who were fleeing the residence. One of the suspects was immediately taken into custody just outside the residence and found to have multiple weapons and stolen property and narcotics on his person. A second suspect was chased by deputies from the scene and was apprehended a short distance from the residence by use of a TCSD K-9. This suspect received several contact wounds by the K-9 and was treated at a local area hospital for these wounds.

A further check of the residence resulted in the location of an elderly female victim who had been confronted by the masked suspects whom assaulted the victim, held her inside the residence at gunpoint and ransacked the residence before being disrupted by arriving TCSD Deputies.  The victim received non life threating injuries as a result of this incident and was transported to and treated at a local area hospital for her injuries.  All of the property taken from the victims residence by the suspects has been recovered.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Departments Property Crimes Investigation Unit and the Sheriff's Gang Violence Suppression Unit has assumed this investigation and it is ongoing.
