The Assessor's Office is requesting assistance from the agricultural community in completing an Agricultural Property Questionnaire. The information requested in this form is essential for accurately evaluating the potential impact of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) on property assessments. The collected data will enhance our office’s ability to account for changing market conditions, especially in cases where irrigation district water is unavailable. All responses will be handled confidentially.
For Williamson Act properties, evidence of a declining rental market may justify value reductions for properties within specific irrigation districts. For non-Williamson Act properties, our office can apply a value reduction when a property’s current market value falls below its assessed value.
